Zelenskyy on Russian shelling: Ukraine needs more support to save people from constant Russian attacks

Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized the need for increased international support to protect civilians from Russian attacks.

The president said this on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The war does not stop with talks and statements. Moscow ignores any diplomacy because they believe they can afford it," he emphasized.

Zelenskyy said that on April 9 alone, Russia launched 55 strikes on Ukraine with kamikaze drones, mostly of the Shahed type. Sumy and Donetsk regions, as well as Kharkiv and Dnipro, were affected, with targeted strikes on residential buildings, an outpatient clinic, shops, and a gas pipeline.

"There were targeted attacks on Dnipro and Kharkiv, on communities in the Sumy and Donetsk regions. Ordinary houses and civilian infrastructure were damaged, including shops, an outpatient clinic and a gas pipeline. Unfortunately, there was a significant number of casualties. Eleven people were taken to hospitals in Dnipro and Kharkiv. In Donetsk region, in Kramatorsk, a child was wounded by a Russian strike - a girl, 11 years old," the Head of State said.

The President thanked all the services working on the ground: medics, rescuers, police, utilities.

"Only in unity can we protect lives from such constant Russian terror. And that is why we need the support of our partners to save as many people as possible from constant Russian strikes," Zelenskyy said.
