Minerals deal with United States can’t hurt Ukraine’s European integration, Shmyhal said

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal assured that the agreement with the United States on mining does not contradict Ukraine's aspirations to join the European Union.
He said this in an interview with Bloomberg, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, Ukraine will send a special technical working group to the United States tomorrow for further negotiations.
The agreement has been the subject of discussion amid concerns that granting the US significant privileges in the field of natural resources could complicate Ukraine's accession to the EU.
"This (joining the EU) is the number one red line that we inform all our partners about," Shmyhal emphasized. He noted that the Ukrainian side in negotiations with American partners seeks to reach an optimal solution that does not contradict the Association Agreement with the European Union.
"This agreement cannot harm our European aspirations and cannot harm our association agreement with the European Union," the Prime Minister emphasized.
