Norway to help equip Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades with modern means of destruction and armored vehicles – Umerov

Norway will help equip the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades with modern means of destruction, armored vehicles and other technological solutions, and is ready to allocate significant funds for the purchase of ammunition under the Czech initiative.
According to Censor.NET, this was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov after a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Norway Tore Onshuus Sandvik.
Thus, Umerov thanked for the initiative of the government and the support of the people of Norway, in particular for the decision to allocate an additional 5 billion euros of security assistance to Ukraine for 2025, raising the total amount of assistance for this year to 7 billion euros.
The two sides also analyzed ways to use these funds to strengthen the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the most effective way.
According to the minister, one of the key areas is equipping the units.
"Norway will help equip our brigades with modern means of destruction, armored vehicles and other technological solutions. This is critical support against the backdrop of current threats," he said.
The second priority is the supply of ammunition. The parties discussed various mechanisms for supplying quality ammunition to the frontline. Norway, as an active participant in the Czech initiative, is ready to allocate significant funds for the purchase of ammunition for the Ukrainian army.
"We also focused on the development of defense-industrial cooperation. We discussed the launch of new joint projects with Norwegian companies, in particular in the areas of air defense and maritime solutions, where Norway has unique experience. We are moving towards deepening this cooperation," Umerov added.
