Trump is best chance for peace in Ukraine - Duda

Polish President Andrzej Duda is convinced that US President Donald Trump has the best chance of ending the war in Ukraine, but any peace must be "fair and lasting."
According to Censor.NET, the Polish president said this in an interview with Sky News.
As for the talks with Vladimir Putin, I am confident that Donald Trump has an idea of the Russian leader, refusing to rely on the competence of his chief negotiator Steve Witkoff, who flew to Moscow on Friday for further talks with Putin - a man whom Mr. Witkoff described as "reliable" and "a good guy," Duda said.
Banning Nord Stream 2 during his first term and thwarting Putin's energy ambitions through his state-owned energy giant Gazprom are proof enough that Trump knows where to hit to hurt, Duda said.
Given the failure of European leaders to negotiate peace based on the Minsk agreements, he believes the burden now falls on Donald Trump.
"If anyone can force Russia to end the war, it is most likely only the President of the U.S. The question is whether he will be determined enough to do so, because it is also very important for Europe, which is a neighbor of Russia, which is carrying out aggression against Ukraine, that the peace be fair and lasting," Duda emphasized.
As a reminder, Putin and Witkoff met on April 11. According to Russian media, the meeting lasted more than four and a half hours. The topic was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement.
