Enemy wants to create "gray zone" in north. Most threatening situation is in Sumy and Kharkiv regions - State Border Service of Ukraine

Hostile SRGs on border

Currently, the most threatening situation on the border of Ukraine and Russia is observed in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

This was announced during a telethon by the spokesman for the State Border Service, Andrii Demchenko, Censor.NET reports with regerence to the Liga.

According to Demchenko, the Kharkiv region is concerned with the areas where Russians launched offensive actions in 2024. In particular, Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

"Now the enemy keeps trying to expand the combat zone on the territory of Ukraine, conducting assault operations involving equipment and personnel. But, thanks to Ukrainian soldiers, the enemy cannot achieve the goals it has set for itself," noted Demchenko.

In the Sumy region, the occupants are using the tactics of small assault groups. They are sent every day so that they can gain a foothold on Ukrainian territory and create a "gray zone", and then transfer the zone of active hostilities to the territory of Ukraine. Sometimes, the enemy uses ATVs for quick maneuvers.

"The actions the enemy is taking towards Novenke, Basivka, and Zhuravka, using small assault groups, are probably due to the lack of sufficient numbers or to the fact that they are keeping their equipment. The enemy is not using columns of armored vehicles to storm our border," noted Demchenko.

However, the Defense Forces are using artillery, drones, mortar crews, and other available weapons to the maximum extent possible to strike at these groups, the SBS spokesman summarized.
