This was stated by the head of the Sumy RMA Serhii Kryvosheenko, Censor.NET reports.
"The colossal cruelty of Russian terror. This morning, two missile strikes were launched on the center of Sumy.
It was the second ballistic missile strike that caused human losses with a large number of dead and wounded," the statement said.
According to him, the second ballistic missile fired by the Russians at Sumy was probably filled with fragmentation elements and exploded in the air to inflict maximum damage on people on the streets of the city.
According to preliminary findings, most of the civilians were killed by these munitions.
It is also reported that the explosion occurred about 200 meters from the site of the first hit, in an area where residential buildings, educational institutions and shops are located.
"Such actions of the terrorists indicate a planned attack on civilian objects and civilians on the streets," emphasized the RMA chief.
All services, law enforcement agencies and experts continue to work at the site. There will soon be official reports on the type of ammunition used by the terrorists to kill as many people as possible.
As a reminder, on April 13, 2025, Russian troops struck Sumy with ballistic missiles, causing significant destruction and a large number of casualties. According to the latest data, there are 32 dead, including two children, and 99 wounded, including 11 children.
