Size of army should not be reduced - it is only enough to deter enemy, - Zelenskyy

The Ukrainian army cannot be reduced, as only in its current composition it is able to effectively deter the enemy.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with 60 Minutes, Censor.NET reports.

"Our army cannot be reduced, because it is currently deterring the enemy in such numbers. We are not doing any major de-occupation operations. No. This number is not enough for that. That is why the most important thing is to deter the enemy," the Head of State noted.

The President emphasised that the key guarantee of security for the country was not the reduction of the army, but its support, staffing and financing.

"We are engaged in deterrence. That is why the number of troops cannot be reduced," he stressed.
