Explosions occurred near Konotop: parts of northern Sumy region left without power

In the evening of April 18, an explosion was heard in Konotop, Sumy region. A Russian reconnaissance drone was reported circling near the city.
This was announced on Telegram by Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, the strike did not hit the city itself, and there were no casualties.
He also stated that parts of the Sumy region (Krolevets and Shostka and others) were left without electricity.
"Power engineers are already working on restoration. It might take some time, but not too long," the official wrote.
In a comment to Suspilne, the heads of the Krolevets and Shostka communities, Mykola Noha and Viktor Lekhman, confirmed that both towns had lost power.
Sumyoblenergo, the regional energy provider, said the outage was caused by a Russian strike.
"Our teams are working in emergency mode to restore electricity distribution," the Sumyoblenergo reported.
