According to Matvii Bidnyi, Ukraine's Minister of Youth and Sports, the sports hall of the "Barsa" Children's and Youth Sports School was hit in Shostka. At that moment, training in jumping on an acrobatic track was taking place there.
"While some international sports organisations allow Russian juniors to compete, the Russian army continues to destroy sports facilities where Ukrainian children train... This was a deliberate terrorist attack on a facility where children were present," he stressed.
He also said that since the start of the full-scale invasion, the occupiers have damaged and destroyed more than 800 sports facilities, including more than 20 Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic training bases.
"I am convinced that covering up Russian murders with fictitious 'neutrality' is tantamount to condoning Russian crimes," Bidnyi added.
