Pokrovsk sector is hottest spot on front line. Defence forces repelled 291 attacks over past week, — Syrskyi

Redis, Syrskyi

The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest spot along the entire 1,200-kilometer front line of Russia's war against Ukraine.

This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi following a working visit to this sector, according to Censor.NET.

The situation on the route

According to him, in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad urban area, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently halted a Russian offensive targeting several settlements at once.

Near Hryshyne, soldiers from the 32nd and 155th Separate Mechanized Brigades engaged the invaders. In the Myrnohrad area, the 79th Separate Tavriia Airborne Assault Brigade and the 14th "Chervona Kalyna" Special Operations Brigade engaged the enemy.

  • In total, our defenders repelled 291 attacks by the aggressor in this sector over the past week.

"The high level of activity by Russian occupation forces requires us to maintain constant focus, adopt unconventional solutions, and ensure effective coordination among units. This was discussed during a meeting at the headquarters of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine 'Azov'," Syrskyi said.

The commander-in-chief listened to reports on the situation in the brigades’ areas of responsibility, and the military discussed the urgent needs of Ukrainian defenders. The main focus was on equipment and weapons that will help Ukrainian soldiers engage the enemy even more effectively.

Awards for military personnel

Syrskyi also personally presented awards from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to servicemen of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov" for their professional performance while carrying out combat missions.

In addition, while serving with the Unmanned Systems Forces, Syrskyi presented Major Robert Brovdi (Madiar) with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s "Cross of Merit" medal. He also awarded other USF soldiers who had distinguished themselves in combat.
