"Today at around 11:00 a.m. in the Republic of Crimea, a Su-30 aircraft crashed while conducting a routine training flight. The aircraft was flying without a weapons load," the occupying authorities' ministry stated.

What preceded it?

  • On Tuesday, March 31, it was reported that contact had been lost with an An-26 military transport aircraft during a scheduled flight over the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to Russian media reports, there were up to 30 crew members on board the An-26.
  • It was later reported that a plane crash had occurred near the village of Kuibysheve in the Bakhchysarai district.
