Lavrov suspects Kyiv of having plans for new military operation

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the Ukrainian authorities are hatching up plans for a new military operation.

"At the same time, Europe is becoming more aware of what is going on, including the fact that a new attempt of the Kyiv authorities to resort to military force - and such plans are being hatched - would have grave, tragic consequences first of all for the Ukrainian people," the foreign ministry said.

Meanwhile, Lavrov said that the sides to the conflict, and, above all, Ukraine, "must find the political will to implement via negotiations those compromises which are enshrined in the Minsk package of measures."

According to him, imposing a party's position unilaterally is meaningless.
