Turkey introduces visa restrictions for Syrian refugees

Ukrinform reports citing Deutsche Welle, Censor.NET informs.

"The Foreign Ministry of Turkey has announced that the new rules are intended to reduce the number of Syrians arriving from third countries such as Lebanon or Egypt," the statement reads.

According to the news agency, many refugees are trying to get into Turkey from these countries to travel to the European Union after that.

At the same time, according to the official representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, those Syrians who arrive to Turkey directly from Syria by land can count on refuge since Ankara keeps implementing "open door policy" for them.

It is noted that there are 2.2 million Syrian refugees in 25 camps in Turkey.
