SFS to be demilitarized, tax police liquidated, - PM Yatseniuk

Tax police, which is a part of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, should be liquidated, and the entire fiscal authority demilitarized.

This was announced by Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk, Censor.NET informs citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Our task is to liquidate the tax police, of what I am announcing publicly. The draft bill on creation of Financial Investigation Service is ready," he said at the meeting on anti-corruption investigation in Kyiv on Thursday.

According to Yatseniuk, the SFS will only include a small unit that will gather evidence, and the entire service will be demilitarized.

The prime minister noted that detectives of the Financial Investigation Service will be selected on a competitive basis, like those of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
