Cabinet dismisses Acting Ecology Minister Kurykin

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has relieved Serhii Kurykin from the post of Deputy Minister of Ecology - Acting Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"The government has relieved Serhii Kurykin from the post of Acting Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine subsequent to the results of the investigation into attempt to embezzle funds in the amount of 550 million hryvnia (about $20 million) acquired under the Kyoto Protocol," the statement reads.

The government has also dismissed Ecology Ministry Climate Policy Department Director Vladyslav Vezhnin and Ukrekoinvest SE CEO Oleksii Koval.
