Savchenko threatens to start dry hunger strike today
Ukrainian pilot Nadiia Savchenko, who is being tried in Donetsk city court of the Rostov region, Russia, promises to go on a dry hunger strike today if she is not allowed to say her last plea during the day.
Savchenko said this in the court room after the hearing started at 11 a.m. Moscow time, Censor.NET's correspondent reports from the court room.Today, March 3, is the second day of debates, during which Nadiia Savchenko's lawyers have their says, after which the defendant herself should deliver her last plea.
As reported earlier, Savchenko went on hunger strike on Dec. 17, 2015. Sshe has been administered vitamins and nutritional cocktails and put under doctors' supervision since then.
