Obama urges Putin to release Savchenko

U.S. President Barack Obama stressed the need to release Ukrainian pilot Nadiia Savchenko held in Russia during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. This was announced by Spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Moscow Will Stevens, Censor.NET informs citing Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the diplomat, U.S. President Barack Obama urged his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to release the detained pilot and lawmaker Nadiia Savchenko in compliance with the Minsk agreements' provisions to release all illegally detained persons.
