Poroshenko signed demobilization decree

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on demobilization of servicemen conscripted during the fourth round of partial mobilization.

"I would like to begin with a very good news for 45,000 servicemen defending our state under difficult circumstances. I mean soldiers of the so-called fourth round of mobilization. I have signed a decree on demobilization of servicemen conscripted under decrees of July 21, 2014 and Jan. 14, 2015," Petro Poroshenko said at a National Security and Defense Council meeting.

"This decree by no means will affect the level of defense capacity of the state or reduce the number of troops in the east of Ukraine and in the area of Crimean isthmus," president said.

According to Poroshenko, the state takes every effort to maintain the Armed Forces and other security units.

He also noted the successful campaign on concluding contracts with military, which is being conducted at a much higher pace than before. Poroshenko emphasized a decent financial supply of servicemen, ensured by the state. A contract soldier receives at least UAH 7,000 (approx. $263) outside the area of anti-terrorist operation and UAH 11,000 (approx. $413) inside the area, president reminded.

According to him, some 14,000 contracts have been concluded with Ukrainian servicemen since the beginning of 2016.
