Minister Rozenko suggests that villagers give up gas consumption
Vice Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko offered rural residents to consider giving up using gas for their households.
He stated this on air of Espresso.TV, Censor.NET reports.
"For the residents of rural areas, it is promising in terms of energy efficiency. Yes, this is a radical step... but it is necessary to consider giving up gas consumption," Rozenko said.
"Based on the dynamics of market economy, market gas prices, and economic situation in Ukraine, it is obvious that the gas price will not go down. That's why we need to look for an alternative, a cheaper alternative, and Ukraine in general needs to sharply reduce gas consumption, making it a national idea. Reducing gas consumption is a step toward energy independence," the official noted.
