Examination confirms Berkut officers’ involvement in execution of Maidan activists, - PGO
"The latest examination established the particular assault rifles in service with the special operations detachment (Kyiv's Berkut special operations company - Ed.) which the protesters were killed and wounded with. The examination established the facts of murders committed with particular assault rifles issued to particular officers," PGO member Oleksii Donskoi told reporters during a recess.
After the recess, the court will continue examining the evidence of the prosecution in the case of former Berkut officers Pavlo Abroskin, Serhii Zinchenko, Oleksandr Marinchenko, Serhii Tamtura, and Oleh Yanyshevskyi.
Earlier, the cases against five former Berkut fighters - Pavlo Abroskin and Serhii Zinchenko, suspected of execution of Maidan activists, as well as Berkut Regiment Deputy Commander Oleh Yanyshevskyi and his two subordinates - were referred to the court Jan. 26. Their trial is still underway.
