Сustoms reform to be accomplished within one year, - Hroisman
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman claims a large-scale reform of the Ukrainian customs office will kick off within a month.
He said it today on air of Vinnytsia State TV, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN."At present, we are preparing for the customs office reform. I am convinced that we'll accomplish it within a year. We have support of the U.S. Government, which is also ready to finance this reform.
"A few days ago, the U.S. mission to study the needs of the Ukrainian customs office went home. 11 best American specialists worked here for 14 days. After 30 days, they will come up with recommendations and we'll embark on modernization and eradication of corruption," Hroisman said.
He noted that the first steps on the way of the reform have already been made, including installation of cameras, the defeat of the "walnut mafia", and the like.
As part of the future reform, according to Hroisman, it is necessary to create a common database with importing countries, to determine customs values, ensure control, rejuvenate staff, and raise salaries.
