Ukraine expects to reach balance this year between territory temporarily occupied by Russia and territory we have liberated, - Zelenskyy

Ukraine has already regained control of 820 square kilometres, whilst 990 square kilometres have been occupied since the start of the year.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy whilst speaking to journalists, according to Censor.NET, which cites Ukrinform.
The Dnipropetrovsk region has almost been liberated
"This year, we have almost liberated Dnipropetrovsk region. This is a significant achievement. There are only 10 square kilometres left to bring back under our control. These are three small villages, and there is effectively no enemy presence there anymore," the President noted.
According to him, the Defence Forces are conducting another operation on a different section of the front line. The President said that a result is expected by the end of August.
An equal number of kilometres
"We believe that by 2026 we will have reached a balance between the amount of Ukrainian territory temporarily occupied by the Russians and that which we have liberated. As things stand, 990 square kilometres have been occupied since the start of the year, whilst we have regained control of 820 square kilometres. But by the end of 2026, we will have reached parity in terms of square kilometres. In other words, our Defence Forces are recapturing Ukrainian land – this is very important, and this balance is significant for us both politically and diplomatically," emphasised Zelenskyy.
