Russia launches up to 1,000 aerial targets per day, we must be competitive in number of long-range strikes – Zelenskyy
Russia is constantly increasing the number of long-range strikes on Ukraine and is now launching up to 1,000 aerial targets per day.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at a press conference following a Coalition of the Willing meeting, Censor.NET reports, citing Suspilne.
Russia increases number of long-range strikes
"Russia is increasing the number of long-range strikes. Two years ago, we faced 40 Iranian Shaheds per day. Then it was 100 — we did not even know what to do with them. Now it is 800. But they have, you know, 500 missile defence systems. A thousand a day," the head of state said.
Ukraine needs a "competitive number" of long-range capabilities
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine needed a "competitive number" of long-range capabilities to "bring the war back to Russian territory and make it painful for them, so that Russian society feels it and puts pressure on Putin," thereby pushing him towards negotiations.
"We must be competitive in terms of the number of long-range strikes. Long-range strikes, not missiles — we do not have many of those. It would, of course, be good if we had them. But we have large drones. We have the capabilities. As I have said, we need more money, much more," the President said.
