Russia launched missile and drone attack on Odesa Thermal Power Station: key equipment has been damaged
On the evening of 31 August, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone strike on the Odesa Thermal Power Station. The attack damaged some of the station’s main and auxiliary equipment.
According to Censor.NET, this was stated by the Naftogaz Group.
Debris is being cleared at the CHP plant
The company has reported that work to clear the rubble is currently underway at the site.
"Last night, Russia attacked the Naftogaz Group’s thermal power station in Odesa with missiles and drones. Some of the main and auxiliary equipment has been damaged, and work is underway to clear the rubble. A full assessment of the thermal power station’s condition and the consequences of the attack will then be carried out," the statement reads.
The full extent of the damage has not yet been established. It will be assessed once the initial work on the CHP site has been completed.
Naftogaz is coordinating its actions with the relevant services and local authorities.
