Former Tornado Company soldier Shevchenko pleads guilty, - prosecutor

The suspect has pleaded guilty on several counts.

Military Prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko told Censor.NET that indictee Shevchenko was not personally present in the courtroom but took part in the trial via videoconference.

"The judge asked me where the injured person was. I said that she came for two days and already returned home. She failed to get a ticket to arrive today. The complainant managed to purchase the ticket for Aug. 30, so I asked to adjourn the hearing for this date," - Kravchenko explained.

The judge gave the floor to the accused after that. Indictee Shevchenko pleaded guilty on charges under articles 127, 146, and 365 (torture, abduction, and abuse of power).

"Shevchenko then confessed and answered the questions of the prosecution. The other defendants and their lawyers refused to question Shevchenko," Kravchenko added.

Shevchenko also requested the judge to change his measure of restraint from confinement to house arrest. The prosecutor voiced objection. However, the judge granted Shevchenko's request and placed him under 24/7 house arrest.
