He embezzled 10.6 million hryvnias and misappropriated hospital funds: district council member is to stand trial in Luhansk region
Police investigators in the Luhansk region, in conjunction with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), have concluded a pre-trial investigation into a member of the Severodonetsk District Council, who also headed the town’s general hospital.

The official is accused of illicit enrichment and embezzlement of public funds.
According to the investigation, the suspect acquired assets worth over 10.6 million hryvnias without a legitimate source. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized this sum in various currencies.
Furthermore, whilst serving as head of the hospital during martial law, he arranged for the purchase of a set of equipment for laparoscopic surgery at a deliberately inflated price. As a result, the community of Severodonetsk suffered losses amounting to 4.2 million hryvnias.
The defendant faces a lengthy prison sentence, along with disqualification from holding certain posts and the confiscation of his property.
