US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the US President’s special representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will join the talks between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This has been reported by "Radio Liberty", citing sources in Washington, according to Censor.NET.
Who will be part of Trump’s delegation at the meeting with Zelenskyy?
"The meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also be attended by the US President’s special representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio," the statement said.
According to media reports, the meeting will begin at 20:15 Kyiv time.
What led up to it
- It should be recalled that on 20 September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. The two heads of state agreed to meet in New York on 22 September, where the 74th session of the UN General Assembly is taking place.
- During the talks, the parties plan to discuss diplomatic avenues for ending the war, the protection of energy infrastructure, the supply of additional air defence systems, and the prospects for the licensed manufacture of missiles for Patriot systems in Ukraine.
