Official Tehran has stated its readiness to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to shipping within a week. The key demands of the Iranian side are an end to military pressure from the United States and the lifting of restrictions on port infrastructure.

Tehran’s conditions for the resumption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz
The Iranian delegation is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly and has the authority to re-establish contact with the US.
"The US must announce that it wishes to resolve this issue through diplomatic channels, make this official, and then agree on a timetable for the next steps in this process," said the Iranian representative.
Tehran’s official proposal to cease hostilities was conveyed to the American side via intermediaries as early as 16 September.
The parties intend to discuss the details of a potential agreement during meetings in New York, with the participation of international mediators.
Warning from Iran’s military command regarding possible US actions
At the same time, Iran’s Central Military Command has stated that it has received intelligence indicating that the US is preparing to resume military operations with the support of countries in the region. Tehran has already warned that it stands ready to respond to any use of force.
Against this backdrop, the Iranian leader Masoud Pezeshkian flew to New York on Tuesday. No meeting with US President Donald Trump at UN headquarters is currently planned, but the Iranian side emphasises its readiness to return to diplomacy if Washington takes concrete steps to meet them halfway.
