Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminate Colonel Isaiev, who betrayed Ukraine and sided with Russia in 2014
Ukrainian defenders eliminated Oleksandr Isaiev, commander of the Russian Armed Forces’ 8th Artillery Regiment, in the Kherson region on 19 September. He had fought against Ukraine on the side of the Russian army since 2014.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Book of Executioners online platform.
What is known about Isaiev?
According to the report, the 8th Regiment operated in the coastal tactical direction as part of the Dnepr Grouping of Troops within the Joint Grouping of Troops (Forces) of the Russian Armed Forces.
Isaiev was born in Mykolaiv and had served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1992.
Sided with the enemy
In 2014, while serving as chief of staff (first deputy commander of the 406th Separate Brigade of the Coastal Artillery Group of the Ukrainian Navy’s Coastal Defence Troops Centre), he committed high treason and sided with Russia.
- Isaiev was then appointed chief of staff and deputy commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s 22nd Army Corps.
The platform added that he was transferred to the reserve in 2015. In October 2022, he returned to service in his previous post and took part in the armed aggression against Ukraine.
In September 2024, Isaiev was appointed commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment and promoted to the rank of colonel.
