Zelenskyy has asked Trump to involve Xi Jinping in peace process

During talks with US President Donald Trump in New York, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyyproposed that he involve China in the peace process aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

He madethis statement at a press conference in New York on Tuesday following his meeting with US President Donald Trump, according to Censor.NET.

China’s influence on Russia 

"Tomorrow, President Trump will meet with the Chinese leader (Xi Jinping – ed.). I told the President frankly that, in our view, if he also involves Xi, it could make a difference. Xi has influence over Putin. That is my view," said the head of state.

Xi Jinping’s visit to the US

• On Thursday, 24 September, Trump will host Xi at the White House, marking the Chinese leader’s first state visit to Washington in over a decade.
