Russia’s night-time strike on Zaporizhzhia: two injured, rescue workers extinguished major fire at shopping centre. VIDEO+PHOTOS

Two men, aged 37 and 39, were injured as a result of a Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia overnight. Medical staff are providing them with the necessary treatment.

Shopping centre on fire

It is reported that the strike caused a large-scale fire in one of the shopping centres. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which covered an area of 6,000 square metres.

"We had to work in extremely difficult conditions – due to the risk of further attacks, work was periodically suspended so that we could take cover. All emergency services were on the scene," added the State Emergency Service.

What led up to this?

• It was previously reported that Russia had struck a shopping centre in Zaporizhzhia, causing a fire to break out.
