Enemy strikes Sumy with KABs: seven injured, water supply restricted due to power disruptions. VIDEO&PHOTOS
On Wednesday afternoon, September 23, Russian forces struck Sumy with guided aerial bombs. At least five people were injured.
This was reported by Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, and Artem Kobzar, the acting mayor, Censor.NET reports.
What is known about the aftermath of the attack?
Residential areas, civilian infrastructure, and non-residential buildings in the city’s Zarichnyi district came under enemy attack. Cars were damaged, and a large fire broke out at one of the strike sites.
According to Hryhorov, four injured people were taken to hospital.
Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar posted footage of the aftermath of the enemy strikes.
Sumy City Military Administration Head Serhii Kryvosheienko clarified that at least five people were injured in the strike.
"At least five people were injured in strikes at three locations: near an apartment building, in a private residential area, and in a non-residential area in the city’s Zarichnyi district. The injured are receiving qualified medical care at healthcare facilities. The number of people injured and their condition are being clarified," he wrote.
Update
Later, Kryvosheienko reported that seven people had been injured in the enemy attack.
"All those injured have been hospitalized and are receiving the necessary medical care. Doctors assess one person’s condition as serious," the official said.
Water supply restrictions
Sumy City Council reported that water supply in Sumy had been restricted because of Russian shelling.
"Due to the enemy attack and disruptions to the power supply, one of the water intake facilities is currently without electricity. From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., water will be supplied on a schedule at reduced pressure to homes on Serhiia Borodaievskoho, Romenska, Herasyma Kondratieva, Lykhvynskoi Stinky, Petropavlivska, Sumskoi Artbryhady, Yaroslava Mudroho, Zasumska and Illinska streets and adjacent streets," the statement said.
