Poland to deploy Patriot systems near border with Ukraine, - Defense Ministry

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said the country would deploy Patriot batteries in Lublin province, which borders Ukraine.

"This decision and the plan to deploy Patriot batteries, developed jointly with the military command, are aimed at protecting Lublin province. The aim is to give people a sense of security.
"In addition, it is important to make air traffic here, which is often disrupted by alerts, as safe as possible, so that during periods when flights are possible, they operate under the safest possible conditions," the minister said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also announced the formation of new military units in the region, including drone forces. Military units will be stationed in Biłgoraj, Łuków and Poniatowa, among other locations.
