Strike on Pryluky: rescue operations continued throughout night; death toll has risen to 22 people. VIDEO+PHOTOS

Search and rescue operations are continuing in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region, following a Russian strike. Twenty-two people have been killed, including five children, and a further 54 have been injured.

According to Censor.NET, this information was provided by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"As of this morning, the deaths of 22 people have been confirmed, including five children. A further 54 people have been injured, including seven children," the State Emergency Service stated.

During the rescue operation, emergency services managed to rescue 15 people, including one child.

Rescuers are currently continuing to clear the rubble and dismantle the collapsed structures.

What led up to this?

During a massive missile strike on Ukraine, a missile destroyed a five-storey residential block in Pryluky.

Two entrances to the block of flats were destroyed. Other residential buildings, a children’s and youth creative centre, a business premises and cars were damaged.
