October 8 is day of mourning in Ukraine for victims of Russian attack

On October 8, Ukraine honors the memory of those who died as a result of the Russian attack on the night of October 7. Children are among the dead.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
As a result of the Russian attack, residential buildings were destroyed and damaged, and families lost their loved ones.
"Russia has once again taken away what is most precious. It has destroyed homes, brought pain, and left a void that nothing can ever fill."
"Our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones," the statement reads.
A massive attack on October 7
On the night of October 6, 2026, the Russian Federation launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine. According to the Air Force, the enemy deployed 130 attack UAVs and 48 cruise missiles, as well as ballistic and anti-ship missiles. Air defense forces neutralized 161 aerial targets: 5 ballistic/anti-ship missiles, 39 cruise missiles, and 117 drones. Hits were recorded at 18 locations.
In Pryluky, an Kh-101 missile struck a residential building—22 people were killed, including five children. 55 people were injured, including seven children.
Russian missiles also struck an industrial facility and a residential area. In addition, the Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity was damaged in Pryluky.
On the night of Tuesday, October 7, 2026, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. In the Podilskyi district, damage to a warehouse was reported as a result of the enemy attack. In the Darnytskyi district, debris fell in an open area. In the Darnytskyi district, the aftermath of the enemy attack on the grounds of a garage cooperative has been documented. Unfortunately, two people were killed as a result of the enemy attack in the Darnytskyi district.
Overnight, the enemy attacked Kremenchuk in the Poltava region with various types of missiles. Hits were recorded at four locations. As a result of the attack, apartment buildings and private homes were damaged. Two people were killed. Another 47 were injured, including two children.
The enemy also struck one of the businesses in the Kremenchuk district.
In addition:
- Attacks also targeted Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Oleksandriia, and other towns and cities;
- The energy, transportation, and industrial infrastructure were targeted.
