SSU prevents Russia from gaining access to Starlink: 4 agents detained. PHOTOS
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has blocked new attempts to register Starlink satellite terminals for Russian armed groups.
Censor.NET reports this, citing the SSU press center.
Following a series of coordinated operations across Ukraine, four Russian agents involved in the illegal verification of satellite internet terminals were detained.
Investigators established that the individuals had been recruited remotely by the enemy while seeking "easy" money on Telegram channels.
What is known about the traitors?
In the Khmelnytskyi region, SSU counterintelligence officers detained a mobilized service member who had left his military unit without authorization and registered 10 satellite terminals at Russia’s request.
While hiding in Kamianets-Podilskyi, he sold the Starlink activation credentials he had obtained to a Russian intelligence officer.
According to the case materials, the deserter initially registered the devices in his own name, then tricked acquaintances into registering internet terminals.
Investigators also documented how the individual collected coordinates of Defense Forces facilities for his Russian handler. The enemy was preparing airstrikes on these facilities.
In Zaporizhzhia, an unemployed local resident was caught in the act of activating Starlink terminals for ruscists in the temporarily occupied parts of the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
To verify the terminals, the perpetrator enlisted acquaintances, promising them money without revealing that the client was from the aggressor state.
SSU officers detained the agent near a post office, where he was attempting to register another Starlink terminal for the enemy.
In the Mykolaiv region, two residents of the regional capital were exposed, one of whom had previously faced criminal prosecution for robbery.
The perpetrators registered satellite terminals through postal operators’ services using the personal details of front persons. They activated more than 10 devices for ruscists in this way.
SSU officers have now blocked all terminals registered by the individuals for Russian armed groups.
Notices of suspicion
SSU investigators served all detainees with notices of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
