"Russia wants us to focus on our own problems and grow weary of supporting Ukraine," - Estonian Prime Minister Michal on hybrid attacks

Michal on hybrid attacks by the Russian Federation

The Prime Minister of Estonia, Kristen Mihal, has stated that Russia is attempting to divert attention away from Ukraine through hybrid attacks.

He made these remarks at a press conference with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in Tallinn, according to Censor.NET, which cites The Guardian.

The Russian Federation’s objectives have not changed

Michal noted that "support for Ukraine is part of our own security", and warned that "Russia’s objectives have not changed", whilst Moscow "is testing our unity with hybrid attacks and trying to divert our attention from Ukraine to something else".

"Russia wants us to focus on our own problems and grow weary of supporting Ukraine. We must not let that happen. Estonia will continue to provide military support to Ukraine," emphasised the Estonian Prime Minister.

Support for Ukraine

According to him, "our task is to help Ukraine withstand Russia’s brutal attacks", as well as to provide it with more weapons and air defence systems.

"We learn from Ukraine every day. Ukraine’s experience is invaluable for the development of our defence capabilities and defence industry… Ukraine’s membership of NATO would, in the long term, be the strongest guarantee of security," said Michal.

He added that "Russia must know that NATO is ready" to defend its allies and support Ukraine.
