In exchange for the money, he promised to secure a finding by the commission that the accident had occurred because of the deceased worker’s own negligence.
On August 28, 2026, a worker fell from a height and died during the construction of a private house in a village in Lutsk district.
A special investigation was ordered to establish the circumstances of the tragedy. The suspect was responsible for approving the resulting report. During a meeting with a representative of the business owner, the official said that the investigation’s findings were unfavourable to the employer, who faced liability. He offered to influence the commission’s decision and accepted a promise of an unlawful benefit.
Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors from the Volyn Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the official was formally notified of suspicion of soliciting an unlawful benefit in an especially large amount and accepting a promise of it.
The court placed the suspect under round-the-clock house arrest. He was also suspended from his position.
