The Security Service’s counter-intelligence unit prevented the registration of one of the largest consignments of Starlink satellite stations destined for the Russian Federation. An FSB agent was detained in Kyiv while attempting to activate 148 internet devices for the Russians.

According to available information, the SSU’s rapid response thwarted the enemy’s plan to use the terminals to plan combat operations in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The investigation revealed that the hostile mission was carried out by an 18-year-old former student at a college in the capital who had been recruited by the FSB.
He came to the attention of the Russian security service when, after training as an electric welder, he began looking for ‘quick’ money on Telegram channels.
In one of the chat rooms, an FSB officer approached him and offered him a deal in exchange for the promise of ‘easy’ money.
It has been established that within a few days of being recruited, the suspect registered 15 StarLink terminals using the passport details of his relatives and acquaintances.
The agent then prepared ‘fake’ personal details to register a further 133 terminals for the Russian security service.
SSU counter-intelligence officers exposed the perpetrator, documented his subversive activities, and arrested him "red-handed" near a post office where he was planning to activate a new batch of internet terminals.
At the same time, the pre-registered Starlink devices were blocked; the suspect had sent their details to his handler in Russia via a messaging app.
During searches of the detainee’s premises, several smartphones containing evidence of his work for the enemy were seized.
Investigators from the Security Service informed him that he was suspected of treason.
The suspect is being held in custody without

the right to post bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
