Koretskyi on change to reservation system: There’s no betrayal here; details will follow. VIDEO

Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi assured that changes to the reservation system will not involve any radical innovations for critical enterprises in the defense and energy sectors.

He made this statement during question time for the government in the Verkhovna Rada, according to Censor.NET.

Details

"This resolution is currently being drafted; it will definitely be finalized, adopted, and made public. There is no betrayal involved. All the details will be available once they are made public and all relevant decisions have been made," the prime minister said.

According to Koretskyi, the skepticism prevailing in the public discussion of changes to the reservation system is unfounded, since no decisions have been made yet.

"There’s nothing to criticize right now. And the fact that the mobilization and reservation system needs improvement is indisputable. The fact that the General Staff needs soldiers is a fact. That’s exactly how we’re working right now.

There is no cause for concern for critical enterprises—those that are truly essential to both the defense and energy sectors. I can say with confidence that there will be no radical changes for these people or for these industries," the head of government emphasized.

What led up to this?

  • It was previously reported that the Ministry of Economy is proposing to reduce the quota for reserving defence industry workers from 100 per cent to 85 per cent.
  • At the same time, the Armourers’ Council has opposed this decision and is calling for the option to reserve up to 100 per cent of conscript-eligible employees at companies in the sector to be retained.
  • The National Association of Defence Industry Enterprises of Ukraine (NAUDI), for its part, has called on the Ministry of Economy to withdraw the draft resolution on reducing the mobilisation quota for the defence industry to 85 per cent.
