Details
"A horrific Russian strike on the railway station in Dnipro. The Russians attacked the platform with a drone, where a regular commuter train and a scheduled passenger train were standing. Unfortunately, as of now, 13 people are known to have died. My condolences to their families and loved ones. A further ten people have been injured. The relevant emergency services are on the scene," the statement reads.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia had carried out a series of attacks on civilians following the lifting of sanctions against certain Russian oligarchs and the energy sector, rather than moving towards de-escalation.
"That is precisely why Ukraine always says that fair and decisive action is needed from America and Europe in response to Russian escalation: sanctions against Moscow and its war machine must not be relaxed whilst this Russian war continues. It is time for new, stronger sanctions from the EU, America and the G7. Thank you to everyone who is prepared to help in this way," he concluded.
