In October 2026, Russian occupation forces suffered their highest casualty figures since the start of the full-scale invasion. A significant proportion of these occurred within the area of responsibility of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine’s ‘Azov’ unit.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the unit’s press office.
Casualties
As noted, the corps’ area of responsibility is one of the key sectors for the Russian Armed Forces’ offensive. During the second month of autumn, enemy casualties in this sector totalled 5,017 killed, 1,820 wounded and 6 captured.
Equipment losses (destroyed and damaged):
• 5 armoured fighting vehicles;
• 47 artillery systems;
• 2 multiple launch rocket systems;
• 469 vehicles;
• 2,967 attack and 183 reconnaissance aircraft-type UAVs;
• 2,109 attack and 268 reconnaissance copter-type UAVs;
• 558 engineering and fortification structures and command posts.
Electronic warfare operations
Special mention was made of the effective work of the electronic warfare units, which neutralised:
• 1,071 aircraft-type strike UAVs;
• 8,873 attack UAVs of the copter type.
