3rd Assault Brigade fighters destroy Russian Mi-8 helicopter in Luhansk region. VIDEO
Servicemen from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade destroyed a Russian Mi-8 helicopter in the Luhansk region.
The 3rd Army Corps reported this on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.
Detecting the target
"During a raid targeting enemy logistics, a Hornet kamikaze UAV crew from the Unmanned Systems Battalion’s SKYFOM fixed-wing strike drone platoon spotted an enemy Mi-8 and flew its drone to intercept it. The enemy was forced to change course in the air," the statement reads.
Precision strike
Since the Russian helicopter’s cruising speed was higher than that of the strike drones, the troops waited for it to land. They then struck the area around its fuel tanks, while a second Hornet drone recorded the hit.
"As a result of the attack, the military helicopter, which the Russian army uses to transport personnel and cargo, carry out evacuations and provide fire support, burned out completely — congratulations!" the troops added.
