I asked Trump 3 or 4 times to lift Starshield restrictions so we could attack Russian ballistic missile launchers, - Zelenskyy

Starshield for strikes on Russian launch sites: Zelenskyy provided details

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed with Trump on several occasions the possibility of expanding the use of the Starshield system to strike Russian ballistic missile launchers.

He spoke about this in an interview with PBS News, according to Censor.NET.

Details

"We raised this issue with the president (Trump—Ed.) several times—I think four times. I had three or four meetings devoted specifically to this topic.

I told the president, ‘Listen, you’ll never have enough Patriot missiles to supply both the Middle East and us.’ After all, we knew he would be sending them to the Middle East, and he continues to do so now.

And I said, "There’s only one solution—give us access to Starshield, and we’ll be able to block their ballistic missile launchers. That would significantly help protect the civilian population and save lives," the head of state explained.

According to Zelenskyy, Trump said he would try.

"It's not up to him. He said it depends mainly on SpaceX. He assured me that he supports this idea. And I was very grateful to him.

I said that if they lift the restrictions, we will take advantage of this opportunity—we will use Starshield on Russian territory solely to identify the locations of ballistic missile launchers. In other words, we’re talking exclusively about striking launch sites.

I emphasized that this involves targeted actions by our military. That’s the whole point—how we can protect ourselves," he added.
