Residents of occupied Oleshky are not receiving humanitarian aid delivered during mission, - CMA

Residents in Oleshky are not receiving humanitarian aid following the mission.

Residents of the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky in Kherson Oblast report that they are not receiving the humanitarian aid that was delivered to the town during a recent humanitarian mission. Those who managed to obtain food supplies complain that the packages are far too small.

According to Censor.NET, Tetyana Gasanenko, head of the Oleshky City Military Administration, said this in an interview with "Ukrinform."

"We also received a report that people are not receiving the humanitarian aid that was delivered to Oleshky during the humanitarian mission," she said.

According to Gasanenko, people who did receive aid say they were given a minimal amount of food, which won't last them a week.

At the same time, the administration is unable to assess the situation directly on site.

Some residents of Oleshky were unable to evacuate

Gasanenko also said that not everyone who wanted to was able to take advantage of the opportunity to leave the city. Some residents weren't even aware of the evacuation because they were in basements and had no communication.

According to her, despite the declared ceasefire, people were so frightened that they could not believe it was possible to leave safely or assess the situation around them.

In addition, there were people with limited mobility left behind in Oleshky who had not been taken to the assembly point near the hospital. Some of them were waiting for the Russians to give them a ride.

Another reason for refusing to evacuate was the fear of being screened. Even some of the people who eventually decided to leave the city had such fears.

"They set out thinking that this might be a 'one-way trip,' as they say. But they had no choice but to leave, because death awaited them either way. So they took the risk," said the head of the MBA.

During the evacuation, people who were waiting for the convoy on the highway were also picked up. At the same time, some women did not wait for the buses and left, mistakenly believing that the buses had already passed.
