Sánchez and Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine's defense needs
According to the president, during his meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, the two leaders discussed the details of a new aid package and Ukraine's most urgent defense needs.
They paid particular attention to Russian attacks on the energy grid, railways, and other critical infrastructure.
"This year, Russia has damaged more of our locomotives than in all previous years of this war," Zelenskyy noted.
Ukraine also needs humanitarian aid
The president emphasized that Russia continues to launch attacks on energy grids and water supply systems.
The situation in Kyiv remains particularly difficult. Therefore, according to Zelenskyy, Ukraine needs not only military but also humanitarian aid.
The head of state also expressed his condolences to Spain following the train tragedy in Toledo last month, which claimed dozens of lives.
Earlier, Zelenskyy met with King Felipe VI of Spain and asked for support for Ukraine’s air defense.
