There is no mass departure of Ukrainians abroad due to threat of difficult winter, - Demchenko

Reports of a mass exodus of Ukrainians abroad due to fears of a harsh winter are not supported by statistics from the State Border Service. In October, passenger traffic at the border actually decreased compared to September.
Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, told reporters this, according to Censor.NET.
According to Demchenko, 3 million 60 thousand people crossed the state border in October, 85% of whom were Ukrainian citizens. In September, the total number of border crossings reached 3.3 million.
"In September, passenger traffic stood at 3.3 million people—in other words, it is declining. And in recent days—specifically in November—we have not seen an increase in passenger traffic either," the spokesperson noted.
He noted that in October, the number of border crossings for departures and arrivals was evenly split—50% each. A similar trend has continued in November.
On weekdays, approximately 80,000 people cross the state border each day. On weekends, passenger traffic traditionally increases to 90,000–100,000 crossings in both directions.
"But overall, passenger traffic is not currently on the rise, and there is no clear trend favoring either departures from Ukraine or arrivals," Demchenko concluded.
