Samopomich faction leaves Rada session hall upon demands to vote on lifting parliamentary immunity of MP Novynskyi
Samopomich parliamentary faction has left the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada upon demanding putting to vote on lifting parliamentary immunity of Opposition Bloc MP Vadym Novynskyi and the people's deputies in general.
Censor.NET correspondent reports.Prior to leaving the session hall, head of Samopomich faction Oleh Bereziuk read the faction's demands from the parliamentary rostrum.
The demands include lifting of parliamentary immunity of all MPs in general and MP Novynskyi in particular. Bereziuk said the faction would not return to the hall until the issues were put on the agenda of the Rada.
Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko earlier published the motion to the Verkhovna Rada to get its sanction to convict MP Novinskyi of a criminal offense. The PGO says Novynskyi is suspected of kidnapping people and abuse of power together with former top-ranking public officials (Yanukovych, Zakharchenko, Koriak).
Later, Rada speaker Andrii Parubii said the parliament had received the motion to hold MP Novynskyi accountable.
On Dec. 5 it was reported that the Rada would consider the motions relating to prosecution of MP Novynskyi on Dec. 6.
