Donbas conflict far from being frozen, - Hug

This was stated by deputy chief monitor of the OSCE SMM in Ukraine Alexander Hug in an interview to DW, Censor.NET reports.

Answering a question on whether the conflict in the Donbas is turning frozen, Hug said:

"The conflict in the east is far from frozen, it's the opposite. Weapons are moving, troops are moving and there are ceasefire violations. We can only see a fraction of what is happening, we see the tip of a large, dangerous iceberg," deputy chief monitor said.

The situation in the Donbas is static but unpredictable, very volatile and very kinetic, Hug says.

"These are not the characteristics of what a frozen conflict would be like," the monitor summed up.
