Poroshenko, Biden discuss situation in Donbas, Russia sanctions
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.
Censor.NET reports citing the presidential press service.The parties discussed the situation in the Donbas and the progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Biden welcomed humanitarian initiatives of the Ukrainian leader aimed at liberating Ukrainian hostages held by pro-Russian separatists.
Poroshenko is hopeful the United States will maintain sanctions against Russia, including for its crimes in Aleppo.
The parties also discussed the pace of Ukrainian reforms and the Ukraine-IMF cooperation.
